Integrative Yoga Therapy: Yoga as a
Health Profession
Integrative Yoga Therapy (IYT) is an approach to yoga developed by Joseph Le Page in
1993. It offers training programs designed specifically to prepare yoga professionals to
tailor yoga for use in mainstream health and wellness settings. IYT is a comprehensive and
creative educational program that integrates Le Page’s diverse background in yoga, educational
systems and processes, world travel, and experience in healing arts.
IYT offers two training programs: A 200-hour yoga teacher training prepares individuals
from a variety of backgrounds to teach therapeutic yoga classes. An advanced level yoga
therapist training program is designed for yoga teachers with an interest in applying yoga
therapy principles to individuals with specific health challenges.
